While today most people focus on which company will develop the most advanced LLM, I want to look beyond this horizon. As someone deeply involved in the IoT and helping companies connect devices to the cloud, I've been pondering the future role of IoT in the world of AGI.

We are at the very early stages of AI, and currently, we are trying to figure out the best tools and methods. Business use cases aren't always clear, but everyone understands the undoubtful power of this technology.

One thing is very clear to me: LLMs and AI, in general, are highly data-dependent. If a model isn't trained on data suitable for a specific task, it won't solve it "correctly". The more I talk to people, the more I hear how some are tired of superficial and average answers GPT and other models provide, which signals an increasing level of expectations from AI.

With this in mind, I believe that in the near future, we will see a sharp increase in the number of connected devices around us. These devices will collect the data necessary for AI to provide contextual and deeply personalized answers tailored to our specific needs and current situation.

Without the mass adoption of IoT, we will limit the potential of AGI to gain comprehensive knowledge about its surrounding environment.

AI is the brain, and IoT is its the eyes and ears.
